Marriage for Life
Welcome to the Marriage for Life Blog! Are you ready for God to transform your marriage this year? Mark and I are excited to be coming along side of you to encourage you in this journey and to build a marriage that lasts a lifetime! We have a passion to see married couples put Christ in the center of their marriage and be committed to marriage for life! The foundation you build in the beginning years of marriage is crucial. Secondly, our prayer is to pass on to the next generation a passion for Christ! We want to see our children and yours, never settle for mediocrity but go to the next level and fulfill HIS mission and CALL on their lives. We have a lot of work to do so let’s get busy!
We are excited about our new Homeworks Class! We have been praying for you as we begin a new journey together this year! God has some great things in store as we begin our journey of building a marriage that lasts for LIFE! I want to introduce our family. LEFT~Jordan (11), Mark, Brooke (9), me (Tracie) and Kaitlin (5). Mark and I were born and raised in Georgetown, KY. We met when we were fourteen and started dating a year later. We continued to date off and on for six years….yes, we were high school sweethearts! We got married on June 20, 1992! It truly was the happiest day of my life! We moved to Nashville, TN, one year after we were married. We became very involved in Family Life Conferences while in Nashville. We began to have a passion to put God in the VERY center of our lives and our marriage. Those first few years of marriage can be difficult at times. The conferences changed our lives. We became city coordinators and wanted to share our passion with others and help them strengthen their marriage. We moved back to Kentucky in 1999. We have taught children’s sunday school, adult bible study and awana. We have been blessed with three wonderful children. Two years ago, God called us to teach the Homeworks Class! This class has blessed us tremendously! We are committed to helping marriages through those tough times and give you hope which can only be found in Jesus Christ and Him alone!

Encouragement!
As we introduced ourselves in class, it is very apparent that we have many differences as a married couple! Differences can hurt a marriage or make it stronger. I (Tracie) have to admit that I am not the best time manager in the world. I think I do a fairly good job until I observe my husband, Mark. He is a tremendous time manager and many who know him would agree. For many years, I just watched as he managed his time every efficiently. Jealousy crept into my heart! Yes, there were times that I got mad and couldn’t understand how he was such a great time manager. After fourteen years of marriage, instead of being jealous and letting this difference create distance between us, it was as if God spoke to me one day and said, “I created a helpmate for you. You are going to complete and complement each other in every way. Did you hear me, COMPLETE AND COMPLEMENT? Mark can help you become a better time manager because I gave him to you to complete and complement you.” After hearing those words, God broke my jealousy and envy and I let him become my helpmate in becoming a better time manager. All I had to do was ASK! How many times do we look at our spouses differences and let jealousy, envy or pride become a wall between us? God gave you your spouse to be your helper! That is amazing! Instead of letting our differences come between us, God may have a special blessing tucked away in that difference that drives you crazy!
Genesis 2:18~The Lord said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
